Clamshells
Clamshell packaging provides a durable shell to transport your product to the point of purchase. The clamshells are commonly made from clear materials such as PVC and RPET. The fact that they are clear offers high visibility for your product and its advertising. Many clamshells have specific custom shapes to hold your product. This helps protect your product and makes for easy assembly. PVC and RPET clamshells can be sealed in spots or completely around the perimeter to help keep the product from being pilfered. This sealing is done with RF welders or sonic welders. PVC can also be heat staked. Sealed packages are usually products of high value and small size that can be easily pocketed. These packages definitely deter theft and are cursed by all when it’s time to open them. We center cut a hanger hole in the clamshell that keeps the weight of your product balanced on the pegboard rod.

Tri-folds
Tri-folds are similar to the clamshell, but the Tri-fold gives the retailer the ability to stand the product on a shelf or at the checkout counter. Typically the tooling and parts for tri-folds cost 10% more than that of the clamshell. However, Tri-folds do not offer retailers many options on where to display your product.
Quad-folds
Quad-folds go one step further than the Tri-folds. Quad-folds can be hung and stand alone like the Tri-fold, but the Quad-fold is also a stackable package. The Quad-fold offers the best protection of this group. When your product is kept inside the edges by 3/16” a dropped Quad-fold package absorbs all of the impact keeping your product safe. There is more material used in making the Quad-fold compared to the Clamshells and Tri-folds making it the most expensive but most flexible choice.

FormTight takes you from prototyping to production in approximately four to six weeks. Prototypes normally take about one and one half weeks from the time we identify your need. Once approval has been given, we require four weeks to tool up and begin production.
